I have lived in Huntsville, Alabama for over 30 years. Huntsville is located in northern Alabama close to the Tennessee border. I have been happily married for 40 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been doing counseling for 7 years.
My primary focus has been working with couples to help them with their marriages. I see clients both in person and online.
Recently, my focus has expanded to include deep inner healing as well. Many couples and individuals I see need this type of healing because their personal issues are impacting their marriages and other relationships in negative ways.
I am being trained in ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy). This therapy gets to the root of problems through helping people to process feelings from the past that were never addressed and healed.
I’ve been through many trainings including:
Generational Healing with Hilde Wiemann: Intensive 3-day weekend as well as bimonthly training
Prepare/Enrich: training and certification in premarital counseling
Fighting for Your Marriage: 3-day training in communication skills
Internal Family Systems: 2-week training in inner healing of past wounds
ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy): Intensive 3-year training on deep inner healing. I’ve just started my 2nd year.
In addition to these, as a licensed counselor I am required to take 20 hours of continuing education every year on various topics related to counseling.
